Signature Assignment- Overview
You will write a paper on a topic you choose in week 2. (MARRIAGE ENRICHMENT)If you fail to choose a topic by the deadline, your professor will assign you one. You will write all aspects of this paper on that topic. Parts of the paper will be due in different weeks throughout the class. You do NOT need to include introductions or conclusions on these parts. You only need to accomplish the aspect of the paper as outlined below. All references must be within the last 7 years.
Be sure you are researching and writing about this topic as it relates to marriage. Do NOT provide general research and information on the topic. For example, if your topic is domestic violence, do not provide suggestions for women in general, be sure to include specific instructions for married women. Some general information will apply. Just be sure you are always writing in terms of addressing its impact on the marriage and not just writing about the topic in general.
In week 6, your complete paper will be due. This should include all aspects listed here, in this order, with these headings. This paper should reflect any corrections or changes given to you in feedback from the parts of the paper you turned in throughout the course. Failure to update these sections following the feedback of your instructor will result in a zero for each subsection that does not reflect the changes suggested by your instructor in the feedback given on your previous assignments.These must be posted in the assignment folder for grading AND in the folder for week 7 named “Peer Reviews” so your fellow students can access them for review. Failure to post in both places will result in a 10% grade reduction.
The first 6 programs (3 researched based, 3 other support programs) should be WHERE you would send someone. What agency/facility/organization has the help they need? The last 5 resources are things to READ that would help the couple with their issue – so these are not scholarly. These are books of other couples who made it through, self-help, articles with ideas for what to do, etc.
You are not writing this section like the last section where you need 11 references. You are writing it like a list of 11 resources you would give someone in need. List the title of the program/agency/book, then a description of it. Your citation should be for the program itself not a journal article about it. You may support it with a journal article stating the program is researched, but the goal is to give the couples where to go to get this help. So, this is NOT a list of references but a list of programs, agencies, books, etc.
