Assistive technology or AT is any item, piece of equipment, or product system that increases, maintains, or improves functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities. When incorporating AT in the classroom and other learning environments, it is important to remember that it must be customized to meet the unique needs of each student.

For this assignment you will be completing a web-based training on assistive technology or AT. The learning objectives for the web-training are:

Describe assistive technology interventions to promote children’s access to and participation in inclusive settings.
Use a decision-making process to help integrate various sources of evidence and determine whether assistive technology interventions are appropriate for use within a specific context.

The objective of this Key Assessment is to help you learn more about how to help a child participate more fully in an inclusive setting through assistive technology interventions.

In the Additional Resource section you will find all the documents that need to be turned in for the Key Assessment. Type your answers on the provided documents. Submit all of the documents at the same time. Trying to submit one document at a time will not be successful.

Grading Criteria

This assessment is graded on a 100 point scale.
Maximum points are given when each activity is answered in a minimum of three sentences.
12 Mandatory Activities: 8 points each except for Activity 5.13 a: 12 points
