Introduction: The topic was not relevant to me. The speaker could have made the subject relevant or interesting to me by selecting an important or beneficial topic. I did not understand the purpose of the speech because the speaker was unclear in her ideas. It did not gain my attention because I missed the main point various times. Yes, she introduced her topic,giving the audience a general idea of what she was going to talk about. While listening to the speech I didn’t catch a clear and concise thesis statement. No, the speaker did not effectively preview the speech, she even mentioned that: She didn’t really put a script together about what she wanted to speak about on a particular section.
Body: No, the speech was not organized with the elements of introduction, body and conclusion. Having in mind that the speaker didn’t presented a clear thesis statement, I could not really tell If the main points were aligned to it. She presented sourcesto support her main points but did not cited them appropriately. The speaker did used transitions effectively. Visual aid was not part of her speech. The speaker did not stay within time limit, her speech was 4 more minutes long than the limits.
Conclusion:The speaker used signpost to let know the audience she was finishing up with the speech, inciting the listeners who were parents to take action as well. The speech effectively summarized the purpose of it. As a listener, I did learn from this speech thing that I did not knew about ‘vaccines’ and how they impact people’s life.
