The module should a) identify the specific technique by name, b) identify its purpose, and c) contain step-by-step directions for completing the procedure in its entirety. Your recorded narration must be embedded on each content slide of the presentation. This module must be original work; simply paraphrasing or quoting a module from a training manual will result in failure. Include graphics or photographs as part of the demonstration.
Narration Guidelines: Your narration for the slides should demonstrate the following:

Any actual situation should be presented as a hypothetical one, with any names and other identifying information changed to protect anonymity.
Identify a problem in your example situation. Apply principles of sound reasoning to analyze design solutions, and examine/select potential solutions to the example problem.

Assignment 6 Competency: Interpersonal Skills and Healthcare Practice
Course Outcomes:
HS290-4: Execute administrative skills and management processes within the interdisciplinary health care field.
GEL-3.01: Use experimental inquiry to inform problem solving.
Before you begin your Assignment, watch a brief introduction video. Be sure to adjust your audio settings.
Part 1: Analyze the interpersonal skills used in a healthcare situation.
Dramatize a professional, interpersonal experience to illustrate four points regarding interpersonal skills. An actual or hypothetical situation may be used as an example. Any actual situation should be presented as a hypothetical one, with any names and other identifying information changed to protect anonymity. Identify (a) if the situation is with a patient or a colleague, (b) the various interpersonal skills used, (c) how the skills used either positively or negatively contributed to the situation, (d) how the skills might have been improved and/or anticipated results of the improvement, to contribute to both the art and science of healthcare practice.
Part 2: Create an experiment to solve an interpersonal skill problem.
Write a testable hypothesis, identify an appropriate experimental control group, and create an experimental design to solve a problem. Identify one specific interpersonal skill problem related to health care (examples: language barriers between clinicians and patients, cultural differences). Suppose you wanted to design a scientific study to investigate this problem. Identify the following components of the study: hypothesis, control group, and experimental design. Discuss the obstacles that might exist to using a scientific approach in this kind of investigation.
If you need additional help with designing your experiment, view the file “Research Process Overview” found in Course Documents.

Assignment 7 Competency: Professional Standards in Healthcare
Course Outcome:
HS290-5: Exhibit behavior consistent with the professional, ethical, and legal standards of allied health practice.
Before you begin your Assignment, watch a brief introduction video. Be sure to adjust your audio settings.
Choose one of the following to complete:
Option A: Construct your personal professional code of behavior.
Construct a 5–10-point personal professional code of behavior to include both ethical and legal standards for healthcare practice. As part of your assessment, (a) compare and contrast your personal professional code of behavior with the professional code of ethics for your particular healthcare specialty, and (b) provide a rationale for why you included the points you did. (If your medical occupational specialty group does not have a professional code, compare and contrast to that of another healthcare specialty.) Include your created professional code of ethics and specialty’s professional code of ethics used for comparison in the appendix.
OR
Option B: Analyze an existing professional code of behavior that relates to your healthcare specialty.
Assess the professional code of conduct as it relates to the practice of your medical occupational specialty. As part of your assessment, (a) identify 5–10 points of the professional code you believe to be most important to healthcare practice, and (b) illustrate why each of those points is important, i.e., what would happen if they were violated? (If your medical occupational specialty group does not have a professional code, compare and contrast to that of another healthcare specialty.) Appropriately reference the professional code of conduct and include it in the appendix.
