Stroke Team/Awareness(Total 50 points)
Your facility has a newly formed Stroke Team and you have been asked to join the “Team”. Because you recognize the crucial role nursing plays in stroke treatment prevention and education, you agree. There are several benefits, both for hospitals and the public at large, of having stroke teams in place.
Community education and awareness about stroke symptoms and the need to treat them as medical emergencies is important. As a member of the Stroke Team, you have been asked to make a presentation to the community emphasizing stroke awareness.
Part 1 (25 points)
What information would you share in your presentation and why? I.e. types; warning signs(Be specific in your answer.)
What is the content of your presentation, your outline?
Part 2 (25 points)
What educational design(s) would you use (discussion/lecture/power point/video/case study/material/resources)?
With each design you use, what would be the content? I.e. if one of your designs is a video, perhaps the content would be scenarios of what to do in case a stroke is suspected.
The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association hasa wealth of information on their website that you might find helpful for community education.

If you are choosing to use a video as part of your educational design, I need your source.
Be sure that you fully support and develop your answers. Brief replies will not be accepted. All references must be current and from a credible source. Site your references. My expectation is that you use the credible resources in addition to your textbooks. If you do not use resources other than your textbooks, you will receive a deduction of 5 points. When citing the web source give the entire url link for the source. You may contact the College Learning Resource Center for assistance.
