ALL assessments concerning your team’s past, present, and anticipated performance MUST be supported with hard facts. Do not just say “Customers seemed unsatisfied with product performance,” but rather “The Q4 product performance ratings were X% lower than in Q3 and were X% lower than our main competitors Brand A and Brand B. Thus, the data indicates that customers were unsatisfied with the product performance that resulted from adding attributes X and Y to [product name] in Q3.” (This is just an example, not a template. The point is to be specific and support your analysis with data) This type of data-supported specificity is expected in all assignments including the Business plan. Simply appending a table or graph without explaining how it supports your analysis is insufficient. For instance, do not just state, “Customers seemed unsatisfied with product performance. See Table 8 for Q3 performance results.” Rather, provide your verbal analysis (“The Q4 product performance ratings were X% lower than in Q3 and were X% lower than our main competitors Brand A and Brand B. Table 3 demonstrates a comparison of [product name]’s performance ratings relative to those of our competitors.”)
