Classmate 1

The key focus of the Health and Medicine Division is to use the expertise of individuals in science, engineering, and medicine to study complicated issues and resolve it by identifying the best plan of action. The Health and Medicine Division is so prestigious they make recommendations for policy, create new innovative projects, and resolve complex issues that benefit our society. Their mission is to grow and strengthen the fields in science, engineering, and medicine through dialogue and discussions about challenging issues around the world. They value innovation, leadership, and collaboration. Through my experiences in working in a hospital, this organization will have a great impact on the medical field because it has the possibility of creating new and improved ways of treating and caring for patients, enhancing the scope of practice for nurses, and even new ways of improving underlying health issues for the world.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality key focus is to improve the safety and quality of our nations health care system. Their mission is to find out through evidence-based research how to improve healthcare and make it “safer, higher quality, more accessible, equitable, and affordable, and to work within the U.S” (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2020), especially in underserved communities where they lack it the most. They value research, collaboration, and equality. AHRQ would have a great impact on the work I do at the hospital because it would help me find new and improved ways to provide safe and optimal patient care through the data and knowledge they have collected.

The National Quality Forum organization is made up a diverse membership that are from different walks of life, which in return, gives this organization a unique voice on improving healthcare outcomes. Their mission is to be a trusted organization that voices out health improvements. Their vision is to have every single patient experience quality care and optimal health outcomes. They value collaboration, leadership, passion, excellence, and integrity. Based on this organizations mission and vision, they would have a great impact on my daily work as a CNA because I take care of patients to improve their health and healing and their mission is aligned with what I do on the daily basis.

Classmate 2

The Health and Medicine Division’s aim is to expand and advance science/medicine with collaborations and conversations that deal with issues that the world is currently facing. This organization values advancement/modification/teamwork/initiative. This organization is useful for medical professionals due to how the members have the power to change and improve patient (as well as nurses) experiences in the hospital, and can research ways to greatly improve the well-being of those who have illnesses.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality is at the forefront when it comes to providing error free patient care and ensuring quality patient care. Their mission reflects this as it aims to provide care that is easily accessible and where patients will feel that they are safe and receiving quality care. They have a few partners like the department of Health/human services which helps them materialize their mission. Because they want to see healthcare be accessible for all, we can see they value equality. They are very useful for those in the medical field since we can use their research in our own practice that will allow us to provide the highest quality care to our patients.

National Quality Forum has a mission to stay a dependable source when considering health improvements and wants all who seek healthcare to receive quality care as well as the best possible health after the fact. They value integrity, teamwork, and dedication and are a nonprofit organization who values affordable care. Since they advocate for all to have accessible and quality healthcare, and they encourage medical professionals to work as a team, it is obvious why this organization will be beneficial for all who are involved with medical care.
