Description
I need a Thesis Statment first for my Annotated Bibliography which will be over the poem “The Raven” by Edgar Allen Poe. (You will be using my colleges textbook to view this poem and sources for the bibliography).
Thesis Statment Requirments:
I want you to provide your thesis statement for your paper and then prewrite about it on this discussion board.
You can discuss the direction your paper is going from the thesis or give some sample topic sentences or just try to generate ideas by freewriting some ideas on it. Really try to narrow and focus your ideas.
The Annotated Bibliography requirements:
Start with a thesis statement that connect the central theme of all of your sources and then start your annotated bibliography.
Use 3 sources for the research paper and write a correct MLA citation for each source
Create 3 entries to the bibliography, at roughly 300-500 words per entry in which you summarize each of the 3 sources
Write a brief sentence or two in how this source will help you in your research paper. At least two of these sources should be from the Lone Star Academic Databases. Pick 1 quote from each source that you can use in the research paper
Rephrase the quote in 3 ways:
1. a direct quote,
2. a paraphrase,
3. a blended quote
FORMAT
Use the heading for an MLA paper and also create a header with your last name and page number. Then you will have 3 entries arranged alphabetically by the MLA citations for each source.
Each entry is composed of 4 parts:
MLA citation with correct citation for each of the sources Summary (one paragraph) under the citation
This is your summary of the source, but should still have a parenthetical citation Make sure you use your own words – no quoting
. Evaluation (one to two sentences) under the summary.
This is where you state how the source fits your paper.
Make sure you point out the relevance of the source.
Write out a direct quotation from the source.
Use that same quotation 3 ways (Remember to introduce each use of the quote and give each use a parenthetical citation):
A sample direct quote for the paper, introduced, formatted, and cited correctly
The same quote as a sample paraphrase for the paper, introduced, formatted, and cited correctly Blend the same quote with your own words and quote only a key section of the quote in quotation marks, and introduce, format, and cite correct.
