How Does Big Data Impact Us?

Discuss your views on the topic of big data. In your response (at least 400 words), be sure to discuss the following:

• What is your reaction to the readings and videos on the resources page?Be thorough and specific.
• What are the main issues regarding the use of big data? How serious are they?  How do they affect the individual? How do they affect the larger society?
• How is big data changing and/or impacting your daily life?
• How do you envision big data being used to help solve problems facing the world?
• What (if any) controls should be put upon big data technology? Who should monitor this?

RUBRIC

Analysis/ Interpretation/ Application:Superior (32 to 40 points) – Messages reflect appropriate analysis and/or interpretation of the readings, including outside as well as required readings. In addition, they demonstrate the student has gained new understanding of the topic.

Scholarly Dialogue: All sources are cited. Arguments are from the evidence and/or experience.

Writing skills:Sentences are clear and wording is unambiguous. Correct word choice, correct spelling, and correct grammar. Writing style can still be conversational rather than formal.

Participation:Messages contribute to ongoing conversations, as replies to questions or comments, or as new questions or comments. Messages are posted regularly throughout the module week. Reply with meaningful comments to a minimum of two of your classmates.
