Talk about who those who learn best online/are nervous to return due to Covid should be allowed to do so. Explain the other side that those who wish to return to class and thrive on campus should also be allowed to do so. Don’t use I or any personal opinions, this has to be from a factual stand point.

First Point:

Use the article “Online college isn’t going anywhere. “

Talk about the negative/positive effects of being online. Such as flexibility for those who work and who are considered essential works or those that are emotionally affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Then talk about the other side of online and how being online 24/7 can create an addiction to technology/issues with human interaction.

 Second point:

Article to be used, “We’re reopening Notre Dame, it’s worth the risk.”

Talk about how we can make returning to campus safe with proper adjustments/methods. Explain how this can be risky but can be done. Also talk about how those don’t want to be risky, should be able to stay home and not be forced back on campus.  

Third Point:

Use article “online classes should be 12”

Talk about the impact on learning, how it’s caused students to fall behind. Explain how we should restructure, online courses who choose to remain online as well as educating teachers how to do a better job virtually.

Conclusion: Talk about how the serious and lasting effects on students, loss of jobs, and unable to afford class. Not having childcare for kids. Suffering from anxiety and depression. These effects are long lasting and will impact our education, grades, ect. THose who thrive learning in person should also have the option to do so. Elaborate this in more detail. *Please end with:  We as students should have the option to pick which method of education fits our “new normal”, because education is not a one size fits all.
