Draft Research Proposal Requirements
The Draft Research Proposal should include the following elements, including appropriate in-text citations for any information used from outside sources:

1. APA Title Page
Include the assignment title, student name, institution, running head, and page number

2. Interdisciplinary Research Problem Statement (1 paragraph)
The problem statement should be clear, define the scope of the problem, and include context explaining why it is important to investigate the problem.  Refer to pages 265 – 268 of Chapter 10 in the Introduction to Interdisciplinary Studies text for examples of research problem statements.
** # 1. Give your complex research statement, for example, “According to the Department of Social Services (2018), males between the ages of 16 – 25 without the present of their fathers are more likely to become repeat offenders (scope). It is estimated that males who grew up with absent fathers were 50% more likely to become repeat offenders (evidence). Growing up with an absent father causes drug addiction, mental health disorders, anxiety and suicide. Drug addiction, mental health disorders and anxiety leads former inmates to desperation. And desperation leads back to crime. (Why this complex problem should be solved or investigated)

3. Justification for an Interdisciplinary Approach (1 paragraph or approximately 150 words)
Explain why the problem is complex, related to more than one discipline, cannot be solved by only one discipline, and is an unresolved or important issue.
**If one discipline can solve a problem, then the problem is not complex. Explain in your words why this problem is an important or unresolved issue. For example, Why “Inmates growing up without Dad causes Recidivism” is an important issue or unresolved issue? Also, explain why you chose the most relevant disciplines in your literature search assignment. For example – Psychology and Sociology are most relevant disciplines to “Inmates growing up without Dad causes recidivism.” For example – why did you choose psychology and sociology for “Inmates growing up without Dad causes Recidivism.

4. Relevant Academic Disciplines (1 paragraph or approximately 150 words)
Identify and describe the disciplines potentially related to the research problem. Then, based on your preliminary literature search and article reviews, identify 2-3 relevant academic disciplines that likely have insight into an interdisciplinary
